Girl in blue dress
It's an image I've posted and taken down in the past.
One of my favourites but not really what is at the core of my shooting habits.
She was an attendee at a Belle Epoque fashion event at the Museum of Vancouver and she came dressed to the nines.
Her mother made it and I love the mix between the old and new details like the flash and the aluminum window frame and the Mies van der Rohe Barcelona leather in juxtaposition to the dress.
A bad pic in some ways. This is when I would shoot everything at f11 or f16 with the flash. Now, I shoot everything at f4 or lower. Mostly. Still, I love her vulnerability and the gesture of her hands. Admittedly underexposed.
